The British Pound was the standout performer of the past 24 hours and we are looking for positive momentum to extend. However, it is a busy day for data releases and we will be watching the Euro, Dollar and Canadian Dollar in this regard.

Foreign exchange markets see little by way of economic data on tap today, save for the US where a GDP revision and housing numbers are due. Month-end flows will become increasingly important ahead of the weekend while political headlines will surely keep traders on their toes.

The US Dollar eased lower, enabling the Pound, Euro and other currencies to edge higher, during the morning session Friday as traders took up positions ahead of an eagerly awaited address by Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell in Jackson Hole, Wyoming due at 15:00 London time.
